Together with Caritas Hanover, we give people without a home something they often miss: a moment of warmth, protection, and trust. With our Shelterbags, they can find a safe place to rest and feel seen.
A safe place to breathe
At Leibnizufer, Caritas offers a day center five days a week where unhoused people can find some peace. Inside, it’s warm: breakfast, a shower, clean clothes, and someone who truly listens. Outside, the garden and shady trees invite people to pause for a moment. For many visitors, this is the only place where they can feel trust and briefly let go of their worries.
Shelterbags handed over to Caritas
Recently, we handed over 29 of our Shelterbags to the Caritas Hanover homelessness services. These wind- and waterproof sleeping bags with integrated insulation mats provide protection against cold and rain. The handover moment showed how much impact a Shelterbag can have: for those who will soon receive them, it means a night of warmth, safety, and balance.
Small gestures, big difference
The Caritas team ensures that the Shelterbags reach those who need them most. In addition, they offer personal lockers for important belongings, creative activities, and medical support. Every gesture, no matter how small, builds trust and shows that these people matter.

The Shelterbag is thoughtfully designed: a mat to shield against the cold ground, space for a pillow, and an adjustable hood to protect against rain and wind. For people sleeping outside night after night, these are not luxuries but essential protections that can change lives.
