Sheltersuit and Maersk are amplifying each other's strengths to empower local aid organizations and support people experiencing homelessness. Starting with a pilot in five Latin American countries, this joint venture provides innovative protective solutions for hard-to-reach, vulnerable communities.
Leveraging Maersk's logistic and transportation expertise we are able to distribute effectively and efficiently. Working closely with local distribution partners, we ensure the best possible outcomes for distribution in a new territory.
With this sustainable partnership, we are ultimately seeking to establish local production to create jobs and opportunities in Latin America.
It is part of our social responsibility to support a foundation like Sheltersuit, which has created a significant impact in the most vulnerable communities. Not only by delivering Sheltersuits, but creating a network to make them and in our case providing the logistical capacity to make them reach the whole world.

With this unique collaboration, we are able to improve the lives of those in need by bringing a solution that was developed in Europe to communities in Latin America.
Leveraging the expertise of Maersk
Maersk supported Sheltersuit by providing transportation on board their vessels from our production sites in South Africa and the Netherlands to Panama. From there, the 990 items were distributed to 5 countries in Latin America: Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, and Honduras.
Maersk volunteers throughout these countries worked together in a collaborative effort to coordinate the shipments and ensure these items reached the hands of those in need.
We recognise that, as a company, we have the potential to significantly impact society – both positively and negatively. That is why our ESG agenda (Environment, Social and Governance) is a priority for A.P. Moller Maersk globally.
