Over the past five years, the Sheltersuit Foundation has worked diligently to provide immediate shelter and warmth to people experiencing homelessness. What began in 2021 as a small-scale partnership with the German NGO Johanniter—distributing 30 Sheltersuits in Münster—has now blossomed into a nationwide endeavor.
This past December, over 1,000 Sheltersuits were distributed to people forced to sleep outside in more than 40 German cities.
A Shared Mission
Both Sheltersuit Foundation and Johanniter share a mission to care for the most vulnerable individuals in society. By joining forces, our organizations have been able to reach more people than ever before. The partnership leverages Johanniter’s extensive network across Germany, and together we work hand-in-hand to identify communities where Sheltersuits can have the greatest impact.
Why Sheltersuits Matter
A Sheltersuit is more than just a coat—it's a life-saving resource. Each suit provides an insulated jacket with an attached sleeping bag that is waterproof and windproof, offering protection from harsh weather conditions.
